India-UAE Knowledge Forum

Leveraging the Knowledge Economy Paradigm

Held in Abu Dhabi on May 24, 2010, the India-UAE Knowledge Forum was India’s first showcase in the UAE for facilitating mutual investments in the realm of education and strengthening of the Knowledge Economy between the two mighty nations.

This hallmark forum was under the proud patronage of HH Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research, and welcomed and showcased, for the first time in the UAE, HE Kapil Sibal, Union Minister for Human Resource Development, Government of India, whose participation celebrated the flourishing India-UAE alliance and added a fresh and modern dynamic to the age-old bilateral relations.

The grand event saw a spectacular attendee guest list profile of 120 top level delegates comprising of a high-profile group of policymakers, academics and business leaders. The event featured extensive coverage in regional and global media, with a telecast on the Zee Network across the India & Middle East. The forum offered a unique perspective on knowledge economies and discussed the importance of evolving a sustainable economy for both countries, as well as the world at large, with knowledge at the center. The forum explored a common understanding of how knowledge resources drive a globalized economy and assessed prospects for advancing knowledge-centered infrastructure, institutions and policies, while encouraging networking among various stakeholders of a knowledge economy - government officials, academics, businesspeople and other professionals.

The India-UAE Knowledge Forum also served as a platform to initiate discussions on cross-investment opportunities and public-private partnerships in the education, as well as infrastructure and services sectors.
